Versace for H&M

Is this a serious trend now all the major high fashion brands are doing collections for these huge chains that reach the masses? Who started this trend was it H&M or what? So what do you think of the Versace line do you think it will sell as well as the Missoni for target?

The collection will be available in the US November 19th and the prices will range from $19.95 costume jewelry up to $299 for a leather jacket. Some of the pieces are iconic Versace like the bright vibrant colors with gold accents to the daring cuts. For the first time this collection will also include home decor, there will be pillows priced at $29.95 and $39.95 and bedspreads at $149.

Great Fall pieces from J. Crew

Last weekend I went to J. Crew to use a gift card I got from my mom for my birthday. The gift card was $150 but man did I spend way more than that. I just fell in love with all the bold colors they had on display right as you walked in the door. I love the royal blue leather gloves, the gorgeous sleek tan leather clutches and the beautiful heels in colors like, deep pink, royal blue, and nude to name a few. I resisted my temptation to buy yet another bag so I purchased the pink pumps and then started picking up pieces to go with the shoes. I love the red silky sleeveless top paired with the high-waisted skinny jeans. The shoes also look great with the navy silk skirt and the red sleeveless top. I also almost got the green silky long sleeve top as I think it would look great with skinny jeans or even the cute capri pants J. Crew has in a variety of colors.

September 13th Missoni for Target

Finally we have actual images of what will be available for the Missoni collection at Target. Prices rage from $2.99 to $599.99 with most items costing around $40 and will be available from Sept. 13-Oct. 22nd and go the first day as items sell fast, at least that's what happened with the Calypso sale at Target.

Even though I don't really need a bike I love the Missoni bike how cool is that?! Also love the dishes and the button up Missoni sweater and the kids clothes can't be any cuter!

Target's done it again......Missoni for Target

Wow first Calypso and now Missoni at Target! My credit card is still recovering from all the cute stuff I got from the Calypso line at target. Apparently the Missoni campaign has done a pretty good job of keeping everything on the low down however we were able to snag a few pictures from the site (the fashionspot.com). The new line will be available starting September 13th and learn from me, get there the day the collection opens because I missed out on a lot of cute Calypso items.

The Missoni line will feature over 400 items and will include apparel and accessories for men and women, kids and home. I actually don't have anything Missoni but love the pattern although because it's such a distinctive pattern that you can't have all that many pieces and the pieces you do have you can't wear it a whole lot since it's unique, kind of like the Burberry plaid design.

New Boy Chanel Collection this Fall

I have one Chanel bag and have been eying another one called the Large flap over which I would like in beige but as of now it's only available in black. Do I need another black Chanel bag? Well maybe.....:)

Anyhoo this fall there's a whole new line of Chanel handbags coming out and none have the signature quilted look of Chanel. This new collection which was originally based on a hunting cartridge which Coco Chanel herself carried is inspired by the boyish charm she was know for.

I am still on the fence about this new collection I think I like the classic quilted look myself, however the red clutch is pretty fierce! These bags aren't cheap and range from $2,500 to $4,300 and will be available in September.

Prabal Gurung designs for J. Crew

The same designer who dressed such famous women like, Michele Obama, Demi Moore, and Oprah Winfrey to just name a few has now designed a collection for J. Crew. Seems like the "exploding bow" is the consistent theme in his designs. The collection ranges from $198 for a pair of tuxedo trousers to $450 for a tulle rose top with a mesh back, and only 50 pieces were created for some of the designs. What do you think? Can you see yourself wearing any of these pieces?

I like the white suit and the navy dress.

Tod's Tod's Tod's!!!

The blog of all blogs (www.bagsnob.com) for anything and everything you want to know about handbags had a recent blog post about this beautiful limited edition yellow Tod's D-Styling Bauletto bag ($1,665). In celebration of the re-opening of the Tod's store at South Coast Plaza apparently only 35 have been made and is exclusively sold at the South Coast Plaza Tod's store. If yellow isn't your color and you don't have $1,665 to spend on a handbag NYCchic.com is selling a similar classic Tod's bag in white very similar to the one Sara Jessica Parker is carrying while walking with her 8 year old son. Who said you can't wear white if you have kids?!

Proenza Schouler PS1....

Proenza Schouler PS1 Green Satchel $1,595

Proenza Schouler has come out with a new green version of their very popular PS1 satchel bag and I don't know I just don't get the hype about this bag. The color is cool but a satchel for $1,595? I have a friend that works in the handbag department at Barneys and she was telling these bags sell like hot cakes! I know the story of the 2 guys is pretty cool; they were students at Parsons and their final senior thesis turned out to be their first collection and was eventually bought by Barney's New York and their designs are now sold in over 100 exclusive retailers like Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Harvey Nichols. I mean that's a designer's dream and doesn't happen to very many people. Oh and in case you were wonder where they got the name from "Proenza Schouler" is their mothers' maiden names.

So what do you think? Is it worth the hype and money?

Rachel Zoe does it again

Stylist to the starts and now recently reality TV star Rachel Zoe has come out with a second Resort 2012 collection which she finished in February before her son, Skylar, was born. Her first collection did very well and is expected to make approximately $20 million but pales in comparison to Jessica Simpsons $1 Billion in sales! I have actually watched her show ( Rachel Zoe oh and yes I watched J. Simpsons reality show too!) and it's not bad. I think Brad is so cute and sweet but left Rachel Zoe and will be having his own reality show soon. OMG everyone has a reality show nowadays. I think Rachel looked much better while pregnant she needs a little fat on her bones she was way too skinny.

Anyway here are some images from her Resort 2012 collection. My favorite is the dark jeans, white shirt, brown bag and cream jacket. so cool. What's your favorite?

Hey Ladies!

I just got some new handbags and at sample sale here in NYC and I think all three are pretty mom friendly.

The LARGE DOUBLE GG LOGO TOTE could be used as a day/work bag and possibly even a travel/diaper bag. It's pretty big and has one big interior pocket and two small ones as well. I also have a smaller Gucci bag DOUBLE GG LOGO BROWN TOTE but it's still big enough to fit everything you need. It also has a pocket inside and a pretty large one on the exterior of the bag. Then there's a smaller Prada bag PRADA BLACK TESSUTO BR3291 that may function more as a purse for going out or just when you don't need to carry a lot of stuff the good thing though it's nylon and stains should just wipe right off.

Calypso now available at TARGET

Who loves Calypso's easy breezy style from their tunics to fun maxi dresses but just can't stand paying $100-$500+? Well now you can buy similar pieces at Target for much less and even better you can splurge on Calypso Home, Infants, Toddler girls, Women's shoes, handbags, and jewelry.

I went to my local Target today and it was slim pickings as the first day of the collection was yesterday Sunday, May 1st; however I see there are even more items on www.target.com that I didn't see in the stores. So check out their website as well. I was able to snag some great summer T-shirts each at $19.99. At first I just walked right past them because I have never cared for tie-dye look but then I thought let me just try them on and they actually fit great which never happens at chain stores. I got one size smaller as all of the Calypso for Target apparel runs a little big.

I also got my 12 month old daughter some of the cutest summer outfits. There are no boys clothes, however the baby and toddler girl's clothes are to die for. So CUTE!

The house ware is very cute as well from the candles, small flower vases, plates, serving trays, and bowls all ranging from 12.99-29.99. You can easily update your home and summer wardrobe with a few of these accessories and stay under $100.

The purseblog.com wrote about the 4 style of Ralph Lauren bags that will now be available for purchase on www.net-a-porter.com and many of the blog's readers, myself included, agreed that although these bag are really nice and stylish the price is justridiculous for a Ralph Lauren bag. If it were a Chanel or a Hermes bag then maybe but not for a RL handbag. Below I have given some of NYCchic.com's handbags as alternatives to the RL bags.
