About Me

My photo
I have always loved everything related with Fashion and in the last 5-10 years I have become even more interested in how fashion and technology can work together. In 2004 I started a web site selling designer bags and apparel for less, and in 2008 I took some time off to have kids. I have now launched the first ever NYC sample Sale APP that notifies the user of any and all sample sales/major retail sales within 1 mile of the user's location. User's can let the APP tell them where they can save up to 80% on all their favorite brands like, Prada, Fendi, DVF, Theory and so much more.

Country Strong Movie Trailer Official (HD)

l

OMG I can't wait to see this movie. For some reason I love Gywenth Paltrow especially when she lets out her hidden talent of singing. My husband and I are finally going to have a "Parent's Night Out" on Saturday and see this move and hopefully grab a drink at a cool place in the city. Even though I have been out of Texas for 15 years now I still love to see movies about the South. This movie has gotten great reviews so will let you know how it is!

New York Boat Show

Don't miss out on the 106th Annual NYC boat show at the Jacob Javits Center on January 19th-January 23rd 2011. Tickets are $12 for adults and kids under 15 are free (when accompanied with a paid adult). Buy online before January 18, 2011 and save $2.

I found out about the boat show via www.groupon.com but didn't realize that in order to receive the 50% discount you had to purchase them that day or else the deal expired. Anyway I went ahead and purchased two tickets and thought this would be a fun activity for the whole family especially now that it's cold outside and we can't enjoy the NYC parks.

Get your tickets before it's too late!

Great Place for kids....

Wow my 3rd blog entry in one day...I'm on a role. Just goes to show you how a good night's sleep will go a long way.

My friend Joanna said that I should write about the places we go on the weekends with the kids and inform others about how kid-friendly NYC is. Bloomberg has really improved the city and has made it much greener, greatly improved all the parks, and has made NYC incredibly family friendly. So from now on I will try and write a little bit about all the places we visit in the city.

Anyway as some of you may or may not know we live in Jersey city, NJ or as I like to refer to it "5 minutes outside of NYC" and we bundle the kids up and drive to the city almost ever Saturday and Sunday. This past weekend we went to a French bistro type restaurant in Tribeca and to our surprise the restaurant has a magician for kids ever Saturday and Sunday from 12-2. Lukie and Adriana just loved it and the magician came to our table and made funny little animal shapes out of balloons. The food is OK and is the typical brunch menu eggs benedict, pancakes, 2 eggs any style etc. but they do have a brunch pre-fix for $19.95 which includes an entree and fresh orange juice, mimosa, bellini, or bloody Mary. They also have a kid's menu which isn't that bad. Lukie got organic chicken fingers and french fries and of course he only ate the french fries!

We just might head back there this weekend.....

Great bag for traveling/diaper bag

Hey Mommies out there.
I love to travel as light as possible especially when we go to Spain. So I actually used one of the Foley and Corinna bags sold on www.nycchic.com as a Diaper bag/purse and it actually worked out really well. It has two fairly large pockets on the outside and 2 pockets on the inside. The bag is really large so a lot can fit and it's patent leather so almost all stains can be wiped right off. It also easily folds over and has a long strap to fit over the shoulder or even over the chest. The only down side to the bag is that it's kind of like a bottomless pit.... you literally just throw everything in there and it all just falls to the bottom.

I will use it again for any traveling with kids and think it's a great functional inexpensive bag.

Home Sweet Home!

Hey Ya'll!

First off I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Hope your 2011 has started off on the right foot. My new year's resolution is for my husband and I to try and go out at least once a month starting this weekend!!! The sleep training has gotten a lot better and Lukie is now sleeping through the night and Adriana, well fuhgeddaboudit, she has been sleeping so well I can't even remember the last time she woke up in the middle of the night. Lukie still wakes up very early like 5 AM but hopefully he will eventually sleep until 6 AM or later soon.
Since they go to bed fairly early we can tuck them in and go out with out them even knowing. How great is that?!

If you live in the New York City area and would like to use the Sleep Dr. I used please let me know. She helped us out a lot and she's there to guide you through the training via phone or email.

Now getting back to why I titled this blog Entry as "home sweet home".... we went to Madrid, Spain to see my in laws over the holidays, left December 21st and came back December 29th. This time we only went for a week and this trip was so much better than when we went to Spain in September. Lukie and Adriana slept and ate so much better while in Spain and I also ate very well while visiting! I stuffed my face with enough of Spain's famed JAMON JABUGO to last me until we go back in August. We received one of the best christmas gifts ever from my sisters in laws-a lunch at one of Madrid's great restaurants called Diverxo. The menu was a mix of Mediterranean cuisine and Asian and everything was amazing down to the beer I ordered! I totally recommend trying this restauarant if you are ever in Madrid.
We had an amazing time and my in-laws are great but as
Dorothy once stated "there's no place like home!"
