About Me

My photo
I have always loved everything related with Fashion and in the last 5-10 years I have become even more interested in how fashion and technology can work together. In 2004 I started a web site selling designer bags and apparel for less, and in 2008 I took some time off to have kids. I have now launched the first ever NYC sample Sale APP that notifies the user of any and all sample sales/major retail sales within 1 mile of the user's location. User's can let the APP tell them where they can save up to 80% on all their favorite brands like, Prada, Fendi, DVF, Theory and so much more.

Alternative to expensive Ralph Lauren bags

Option 1:

Option 2:

The purseblog.com wrote about the 4 style of Ralph Lauren bags that will now be available for purchase on www.net-a-porter.com and many of the blog's readers, myself included, agreed that although these bag are really nice and stylish the price is justridiculous for a Ralph Lauren bag. If it were a Chanel or a Hermes bag then maybe but not for a RL handbag. Below I have given some of NYCchic.com's handbags as alternatives to the RL bags. They may not be exact but follow the same color shade and shape of the handbags.

Gwyneth Paltrow New Face for Coach's 70th anniversary

As I wrote about previously in celebration of Coach's 70th anniversary they are coming out with a line of handbags inspired by their 5 classic Coach signature styles and colors. As part of this celebration Coach has named Gwyneth Paltrow as the new face of their brand. She will be featured in Coach billboards, print, and digital ads however; they will only be seen in the UK, Spain, France and Asia but not the states.

We should all get one of the 5 Coach classics when it becomes available on www.net-a-porter.com on June 15th as this is sure to be the "it" bag for the fall.

Vintage Coach....

I thought I knew anything and everything about handbags but I really had no idea that Coach had been around since umm oh 1941 when it started as a artisanal leather workshop. Coach has obviously greatly expanded since then and now sells way more than just handbags; however they will be introducing " Coach Classics " which include 5 of their classic iconic styles from the 70's. Love that idea and that era of fashion. I think early Dallas (the TV show of course) days with cute clutches, wedges, and flowy dresses and skirts.

Starting on June 15th they will be sold for the first time at NET-A-PORTER.COM. The prices aren't bad at all and range from $298-$498 in classic colors like chocolate brown, navy blue, and caramel.

What's your favorite style and color?

Another idea for the spring....

Tod's Piccola White Leather ($767)
Tod's Brown Leather Restyling D bag ($767)

Vera Wang Lavender Lillian ($195)
Jack by BB Dakota Charles Lace Skirt ($59)

Alice+Olive Elyse Dolman-Sleeve Shirtdress ($330)

If you 're not into blue wash denim, bright bold colors, or long peasant skirts then you still can be update with another spring trend popping up-neutral tones. Love the Vera Wang Lavender flats, how sweet and perfect are they for any mom wanting to splurge on cute yet practical shoes for the spring. Totally pair it with the lace skirt and the Camel color Tod's bag.
Another great Tod's handbag that would work with this trend is the Tod's Piccola White Leather.

Take a look at some of my favorite pics and of course great handbags sold at NYCchic.com that follow this trend and can also be a staple of any wardrobe for years to come.

Anthropologie and Spring trends Cont......

Anthropologie also has some white strappy shoes with a wooden heel on sale for $99.95 from $198.00. As per their name "Shippedwrecked Booties" they have that washed denim look which would look great with the long peasants skirts that are in now or even some bermuda shorts for those less daring and for those that are more adventurous some mid-thigh shorts.

I just ordered a great pair of shoes (ass seen above) from Anthropologie and apparently they are an "online exclusive" so will let you all know how they fit and the look when I get them. The neutral colors and wooden heel make it easy to pair with a variety of different looks. I imagine them with skinny jeans, or white denim and a cute top, and definitely with this season's slightly pleated skirts. I wrote before how I like the denim skirts at ADAM and I think these shoes will go great with their light denim pleated skirt although if you are on the taller side the skirt may be a little on the shorter side....

Either shoe would be great for a brunch in the city with the family or a kid's birthday party where you don't have to run around after the kids the whole time. On Saturday we went to a birthday party that was at a restaurant in Hoboken, NJ and was surprisingly kid and parent friendly. There was actually enough space for the kids to run around and for the parents to socialize comfortably. I actually got to enjoy 2 glasses of wine while the kids were entertained by a musician the parent's hired as entertainment. What a great idea wine/beer for the parents and all the standard food for the kids; french fries, chicken fingers, cake, cookies etc. Luckily we had just eaten before we got there so Lukie wasn't interested in eating but rather chasing the birthday girl around the restaurant. This kind of event would be a great excuse to pair a low heeled shoe with some cool skinny jeans and look great while sipping wine and holding your baby! Who says you can't be a mom and look good!?

Comments? Let me know your thoughts???

Anthropologie and Spring trends....

Don't you just love everything in Anthropologie? I always go in and love the furniture, dishes, candles, and basically everything related with the home; but always thought the clothes were a bit over priced and not that great until..... I went to the new (well it's been there for over a year I think) store in the Chelsea Market (for those who don't live in NYC Chelsea Market is a great place for shopping and eating located on the West Side of NYC close to the meatpacking district) and it's there I saw some of the cutest dresses and shoes for the spring/summer.

For $168 you can get the denim look for the spring with some gorgeous beading and embellishment on the top paired with some great sandals you will be the best dressed mom at your kid's birthday party.

Top this look off with a great white Fendi Tote. I can totally see this bag as the finishing touch for this dress. Click on link below for more images of the handbag:

Personal Shopper for working moms?

Hey all working moms out there!

Do you find that you want to maintain your own style after having kids and just don't have the time it takes to find out what's hot what's not where the deals are and then actually go online and or go to a store to purchase the clothes you need for work?

You know kinda what you want and what looks good on you but just don't know where to go for the good deals and don't have the time to shop around?

If this is you, would you ever consider hiring a "personal shopper" or someone who could help you bring out your style and knows where the good deals and sales are?

Please leave comments....

J. Crew's New Fall 2011 Preview

I have written before about how I love the shift J. Crew has taken over the last years and has become less preppy and more "cool" so I was surprised to find out that women's sales last year had gone down and J. Crew is eager to boost sales for this year. Here are a few pieces I love from their Fall 2011 line and according to FASHIONOLOGIE their inspiration for the Fall Collection is Bonnie and Clyde and The Great Gatsby, women's designer Marissa Web explained: "You have the whimsy and playfulness of Daisy [fromGatsby] and the structured menswear of Bonnie. The mixing of the two elements is the perfect J.Crew fantasy."
My favorite look is the first image of the knee-length pencil skirt with the striped sweater. So elegant, yet comfy and is a timeless look. I love pencil skirts in almost any color and design- so flattering!

Please comment and let me know what you think. Mom friendly, work friendly, and/or both?
